Course Description
The purpose of this module is to provide learners with basic understanding of the atom, it’s structure and bonding and the Periodic Table. This would provide the learner with an introduction that could lead to further studies in chemistry.

Safety
• Lab coats, safety glasses and gloves supplied. Closed toe footwear to be worn for all practical classes. Long hair to be tied back
Special Consideration –Special Consideration may be applied for and granted when circumstances beyond your control prevent you from attending RMIT on the day of an assessment, or when your academic performance in an assessment has been severely affected. There are strict requirements for applying for special consideration. Contact your Program Mangager immediately.
Submission of work and late work: - Students are required to submit work on the due date at the School Office using the cover sheets provided. Late submission of work will incur a 10% penalty per day to a pass mark (unless Special Consideration is applied for in writing using the required form).
Work will not be accepted more than 1 week after the due date (unless you have applied for Special Consideration).
