Learning Outcomes
The learner will be able to demonstrate essential knowledge required to understand their work role and responsibilities, have the basic understanding of the emotional, psychological, spiritual, cultural and sexual needs of clients.The learners will have the basic understanding for good health, including diet, exercise, lifestyle, hygiene and oral health.Learners will will have the understanding of powerless and empowerment, definition and explanation of the terms "spirituality and cultural" The learner will have the ability to adopt a nonjudgmental and accepting attitude when supporting the client to meet their emotional and psychosocial needs, the learner will be able to apply oral communication skills required to fulfil work role in a safe manner,will be able to apply effective verbal and non verbal communication skills to ask questions, they will be able to identify and recognise and interpret non-verbal cues, adapt communication styles to meet specific needs, provide information and express encouragement and support including active listening and empathy.
Overview of Assessment
Assessments may include Role-play simulation, questioning (Oral/Written),case study and scenario analysis, written assignments/projects and observation in the workplace whilst on practical placement.
