Course Description
This course covers the use of spreadsheet software to complete business tasks and produce usable complex documents.

Overview of Assessment
Students must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievements of each competency in a flexible manner. Assessments will incorporate a variety of methods: class exercises, homework, practical project and tests. Students are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher to ensure that the relevant competency standards are being met. In addition to the assessments, formative feedback is provided to the students throughout the duration of the course
Learning activities will include class-based discussions, exercises, reading and reflection on various activities, in order to develop competency including the underpinning skills and knowledge.
Assessment Tasks
Week 4, assessment of element of competency - Represent numerical data in graphic form (10%).
Students will complete a practical test (open book) which focus’s on both the practical and theory components of developing and using complex spreadsheets.
Week 13, assessment of element of competency – Develop a linked spreadsheet solution, Automate and standardise spreadsheet operation, Use spreadsheets and Use safes work practices (40%).
Students will complete a practical test (open book) which focus’s on both the practical and theory components of developing and using complex spreadsheets.
Week 16, assessment of all elements of competency (50%)
Students will complete an end of semester exam which focus on the practical components of developing and using complex spreadsheets. Open book.
