Overview of Assessment
Students must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievements of each competency in a flexible manner. Assessments will incorporate a variety of methods: online exercises and activities, group work and an in-class test. Due to the complex nature of this competency, students may be required to demonstrate competency in any element more than once. Students are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher to ensure that the relevant competency standards are being met. In addition to the assessments, formative feedback is provided to the students throughout the duration of the course
Learning activities will include class-based discussions, exercises, small group work, online activities, reading and reflection on various activities, together with independent and group research in order to develop competency including the underpinning skills and knowledge.
Assessment Tasks
Four Milestone activities 10% each (Total 40%)
At the end of the chapter of the student text, milestone activities are provided to allow the student to demonstrate competency of each of the elements. The activities will relate to the team project being undertaken and a case study.
Final Assessment (30%)
Students will work in virtual small teams to undertake a project to plan a business-related seminar. This project will focus on on-line planning to acheive team outcomes, developing team cohesion and liaising with management online to complete the project.
In-class test (30%)
Students will complete one in-class test comprising short answer questions and case study activities which focus on the student’s ability to demonstrate the skills and knowledge as set out in the Evidence Guide. The test will be closed book and completed individually.
