Course Description
In this course you will seek information on the structure and operation of the audiovisual industry, on employment obligations and opportunities related to the industry, on new technology used in industry and update your current knowledge of the industry.

Overview of Assessment
To demonstrate competency in EMPL, 5229C, Develop and Apply Industry Knowledge CUFGEN01A you must successfully complete all of the following:
1. Peer Assessment of Four Guest Speaker Discussions
These discussions are designed for you to gather information about the special guest speaker, their career in the audiovisual industry and for you to gain a deeper understanding of the industry itself.
You will have a question sheet to assist you with questions and you must take notes at each session which your peers will review.
40% (10% each) During teacher guided hours
2. Employment Compilation: Audiovisual Employment Vacancies Journal/Scrapbook.
Over the duration of Semester 1, you will be expected to maintain a journal that demonstrates your ability to source audiovisual related employment opportunities. An exercise book (64 pages approx.) would be suitable for this.
30% Due TAFE WEEK 16
3. Case Study
You must put together a Case Study that demonstrates your ability to identify a particular Audiovisual Company (or Department) and its role within the Audiovisual Industry. A word processed report a few pages in length would be suitable.
