Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the nursing care of clients in a range of health environments.

1.1 Provide appropriate introductions and explanations prior to all nursing interventions
1.2 Identify and use appropriate language and interpersonal skills to ensure that the diverse needs of clients and health care settings
1.3 Conduct the client advocate role within the enrolled nurse’s scope of practice
1.4 Work effectively with clients from a range of cultural, spiritual and religious backgrounds, taking action to address cultural factors that may impact on nursing practice
1.5 Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for implementing nursing care within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice

Assessment Matrix

Short case study scenarios will be distributed for discussion throughout the course duration.
Assignment will be handed out at the commencement of the course, for completion once all the hours have been delivered. The assignment will constitute 100% of the required marks.
Observation and assessment of clinical competencies will be ongoing during clinical placements.
To achieve competency assignment must be completed by due date and related clinical competencies achieved
