Course Description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required of Enrolled/Division 2 nurses to
administer and monitor medications and evaluate their effectiveness for clients within a health environment

Assessment may include:
Observation in the workplace.
Written Assignments/projects, case study and scenario as a basis for discussion of issues and strategies to contribute to best practice.

Assessment Tasks
Observation in the work place and clinical competency assessment
Written examination
Drug calculation examination
Assessment Matrix
Short case study scenarios will be distributed for discussion throughout the course duration.
A summative examination assessing knowledge will be required. This examination will constitute 90% of the total marks required
A drug calculation assessment task will be required to be completed & this assessment task will constitute 10% of the total marks required. A 100% pass is required for this assessment.
Observation and assessment of clinical competencies will be ongoing during clinical placements.
To achieve competency all assessment tasks must be completed by the due date and related clinical competencies achieved.
