Course Description

This course specifies the workplace performance required by an allied health assistant to contribute to OHS processes where there is a responsibility for own work outputs and possibly limited responsibility for work output of others. This course helps to identify workplace risks, hazards and associated safety practices.

Teaching Schedule

The face to face teaching to give an outline about OHS policies and procedures will be held according to the time table available to the students. Timetable will also be accessible through RMIT learning hub.

Overview of Assessment

The assessment will include participation in scheduled teaching sessions, online learning activities and housekeeping audit.
Demonstrate elements of competence to the required standard during clinical placement.


Assessment Tasks

The assessment tasks include-
1. Online assessments for topics 1-5 to determine and assess the underpinning knowledge of various aspects of OHS
2. House keeping audit to assess the planning, conducting and understanding of OHS activities
3. Clinical placement review about conduction of OHS in workplace settings
