Course Description
This course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge required to source materials and resources that are required for production of textiles.

Details of Learning Activities
Classroom activities including lectures, tutorials, on-line activities where students are challenged to reflect and debate on different value positions, concepts and issues.
You will be required to participate in Report writing, case study learning, problem solving activities, self-reflection and discussion.
Activities will encourage both individual and group based learning responsibilities. You may be required to attend off campus industry visits to obtain and identify criteria from Suppliers to the TCF Industry.

Overview of Assessment
To achieve successful completion of this course students must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of competency.
Assessment tasks have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner.
Students will be awarded a grade only if competency has been demonstrated within the standard enrolment period on the first assessment attempt.
Units assessed as ’not yet competent’ on a first assessment attempt and ’competent’ on a second or subsequent attempt are to have results amended to competent but are not eligible for grading.
Students are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher.
All work must be submitted by the due date. Late submission will not be graded higher than a PASS.

- Research document - Suppliers of TCF Products (including costings and comparisons between local and offshore suppliers) CA/NYC DUE: Week 8

The below information is for Students enrolled in C4218 (Certificate IV TDD) 2014. Students of the Certificate IV will undertake this Unit as part of a cluster and as such, this Unit will be delivered concurrently with the following Units:-
Implement and monitor OH&S in the workplace (LMTGN4010A) OHTH5451C
Work in the Textiles, Clothing and Footwear industry (LMTGN2003B) EMPL5588C
Learning Activities are designed to contribute to the assessment for each Unit. Further details will be provided by your class teacher in your first session.

Late submission:
Students requiring extensions for 7 calendar days or less (from the original due date) must complete and lodge an Application for Extension of Submittable Work (7 Calendar Days or less) form and lodge it with the Senior Educator/ Program Manager.
The application must be lodged no later than one working day before the official due date. The student will be notified within no more than 2 working days of the date of lodgement as to whether the extension has been granted.
Students seeking an extension of more than 7 calendar days (from the original due date) must lodge an Application for Special Consideration form under the provisions of the Special Consideration Policy, preferably prior to, but no later than 2 working days after the official due date.
