Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to evaluate and adapt to a variety of technological changes within the cultural industries. This knowledge underpins effective performance in all sectors and applies to all people working in these industries

1.2.3. ways of upgrading skills to include the use of new technology

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge of course content is assessed through participation in practical exercises and projects which involve the use of new technologies and looking at new business models.


Assessment Tasks

Assessment tasks in this unit are either ungraded or graded. Ungraded tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered as essential building blocks for more substantial (graded) assessment tasks.
To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessment.

Assessment items include:

USE & ADAPT TO CHANGES IN TECHNOLOGY - FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
1. Studio shooting workshop – group exercise (individual)
2. basic transfer & QuickTime output exercise from Final Cut Pro (individual)

USE & ADAPT TO CHANGES IN TECHNOLOGY - GRADED ASSESSMENT
1. 30 sec genre video – group project

Create a 15 – 30 sec video clip
The video clip must be set in a specific genre style, treated in Final Cut Pro & then output as QuickTime VIdeo.
