Course Description

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to use techniques for image processing. In the course you familiarize yourself with specialised equipment and techniques used for making photo work-print images.

Current photoimaging industry practice relies increasingly on digital imaging processes and this is reflected in your training and assessment

Learning Outcomes


On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to produce multiple proof sheets, digital files and work prints which demonstrate the application of selected techniques consistent with concept/brief.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge of course content is assessed through participation in class tutorial exercises and class discussions and through research of various applications of innovative imaging techniques. You will also be required to demonstrate your skills and knowledge through the production of proof sheets, work prints and digital files.



Assessment Tasks

Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered as essential building blocks for more substantial summative assessment tasks. To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessment and a grade for the summative assessments.
