Course Description
In this course you will learn elements of electrical theory safety and theory and practical aspects of testing and tagging of mains-powered electrical equipment.

Assessment for this course will involve demonstration of practical tasks and testing of underpinning theory knowledge.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered as essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks. Summative assessment tasks in this unit are graded.

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessments and a grade for the summative assessment.
You will be assessed using the following methods:
Formative Assessment
1. Open-book theory test covering electrical theory safety and Testing & Tagging.
(Conducted during class #2)
Note: You may refer to a copy of Standard AS/NZS 3760/2003 during this assessment.
The pass mark for this assessment task is 90%
Summative Assessment
1. Open-book practical test covering electrical equipment safety inspection, testing & tagging. (Conducted during either class #3 or class #4)
Note: Demonstration of competency of this assessment requires that you must have available a copy of Standard AS/NZS 3760/2003 available for reference during the assessment.
The pass mark for this assessment task is 90%
