You will receive feedback on all assessments and a grade for the summative assessment. For further information on the assessements and grading criteria, please refer to the course Blackboard site.

Formative Assessment

Open-book practical assessment task: -  240 volt connector attachment.
(Conducted during Tuesday class #1)

Each student will connect a male & female 240 volt connector to a length of three-core flexible cable. For this task you will be assessed both on your ability to attach the connectors as well as your ability to plan the task (obtain all necessary materials and tools)

Summative Assessment

Open-book practical assessment task: - 240 volt power cable testing. (Conducted during Tuesday class #1 or 2 or one of the Monday classes)
Each student will use both a multimeter and a portable appliance tester to test for electrical safety the 240 volt power cable that was constructed during this course and report on cable status.

The details on these assessments and the grading criteria for this competency can be found on the course blackboard site.
Grades used in this unit are as follows:

CA      Competency Achieved
