Course Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes required to apply an understanding of the legal and regulatory framework of OHS in order to provide advice regarding the OHS legislative responsibilities of an OHS practitioner, company director, manager, supervisor and employee. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

Overview of Assessment
The participant must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over a range of assessment tasks.
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including technical requirements documentation, workplace activities, in class exercises, quizzes, practical problem solving exercises and presentations. Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher to ensure that the relevant competency standards are being met.
Assessment Tasks
A major work based assessment – A report outlining the occupational health and safety processes your workplace uses to identify, assess, control, monitor and review hazards.
This will comprise 70% of total mark
Class participation – 10% of total mark
Online participation 20% of total mark
