Course Description

This unit applies to interpreting design requirements in consultation with client, determining specifications and developing the design for custom made footwear.

Learning Outcomes

In this unit the learner will develop the required knowledge and skills associated with communication to establish design requirements with the client, including taking accurate measurements, and document specifications to guide production. Ongoing learning is required to maintain currency of design options and teamwork is applied to ensure client requirements are identified and achieved in the design. Planning and organising skills are required to determine production requirements in relation to the design. Initiative and enterprise and problem solving will be used to create design concepts and match them with production processes. Self management will be applied to ensure design meets design requirements.


Overview of Assessment

Tasks that have not be authenticated in class as the student’s own work will not be considered for assessment. Regular attendance is necessary. Assessment will consist of both theory and practical based exercises, predominantly in class but some out of class research and information formatting is required as well.
