Course Description

This unit is part of a program that focuses solely on the preparation for the OET for Health Professionals.

This unit outlines the skills and knowledge to work effectively in an Australian workplace. It serves as an introduction to a range of areas within the Australian industry context.


Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

This unit must be co-delivered and assessed with at least one of the langauge (Listening and Speaking or reading and Writing) units from the Certificate in ESL.

Overview of Assessment

You must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of the competencies in order to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over a range of assessment tasks. Assessments may include tasks such as direct observation of actual and simulated work practice, written reports and oral presentations.

Feedback will be provided throughout the semester in class and/or online discussions, through individual and group feedback on practical exercises and by individual consultation.
