Course Description
This unit describes the knowledge and skills required to liaise and facilitate linkages between all community services including specialist and generalist services in the community to ensure support of people in need

The skills described in this unit may be applied across a range of workplace contexts, especially involving related service delivery, sharing of information and client referral as seen in youth work.
Students will learn about the various types of networking and how it will be helpful to them when they work in the sector.
Teaching Schedule
Classes for this competency are held at the beginning of semester one and are built upon throughout the year through other competencies and the student’s work placement (240 hours)
Studnets will go on a field tirp to visit at least one organisation to see how they network throughout the sector.

This course is assessed using a combination of both parctical and theoretically based tasks
Assessment Tasks
Due at the end of the academic year in October, studnets are reuqired to create folder which holds up-to-date informaton on the ragne of sercies available in their DHS region. They will ook a a variety of services including empolyment, income support, correctional facilitites, mental health and AOD services.
