Course Description

This course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to research and develop a business plan for achieving business goals and objectives.

2.1   Research resources, legal and compliance requirements, specifically in relation to occupational health and safety (OHS), in accordance with business goals and objectives.
2.2   Research market needs, and market size and potential
2.3   Identify sources and costs of finance, from the financial plan, to provide required liquidity and profitability for the business
2.4   Identify methods, from the marketing strategies, to promote the market exposure of the business
2.5   Identify methods/means of production/operation from the production/operations plan to conform with business goals and objectives
2.6   Identify staffing requirements to effectively produce/deliver products/services
2.7  Identify specialist services and sources of advice, where required, and cost in accordance with resources available

3.1  Identify specific interests and objectives of relevant people and see and confirm their support of the planning business direction
3.2  Identify and develop risk management strategies according to business goals and objectives, and relevant legal requirements

Overview of Assessment

Assessment will demonstrate the research and creation of a small business concept relevant to the Music Industry.

 


Assessment Tasks

You must submit all pieces of assessment in order for your competency to be assessed in this course.

Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks.  Summative assessment tasks in this unit are graded.  To demonsrate competency in this course you need to complete each of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard.   You will receive feedback on all assessment.

Formative Assessment
• Career Audit - Week 5
• Excursion - Week 8

Summative Assessment
Group assessments (all group members to contribute to each assessment): –
• Prepare and submit a written Business Plan to identify a small business
concept relevant to the Music Industry - Week 10
• Presentation of Business Plan - Week 10

A peer group assessment will be conducted in week 10 - group marks will be adjusted if
students within each group have not contributed to both parts of the assessments.
