Course Description
In this course you will be required to participate in workplace occupational health and safety (OHS) processes. You will be required to demonstrate knowledge of health and safety principles and apply those principles to your work.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment tasks in this course include: “In class” practical tests on the safe handling of photography equipment.
Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You will receive feedback on all assessment and where indicated, you will receive a grade. Graded assessment tasks are equally weighted and will determine your final result for this course.
This course is co-delivered and assess with CUVPHI403A Apply photo imaging lighting techniques.
To demonstrate competency in this course you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You must submit all pieces of assessment in order for your competency to be assessed in this course.
Assessments - ungraded
1. The correct use, safe handling, transportation of Lighting stands & supports. Due week 1-2
2 The correct use, safe handling, transportation of Tripod, booms & release plates. Due week 3
3. The correct use, safe handling, transportation of Monoblocs, Tungsten, softboxes. Due week 4
4. The correct use, safe handling, transportation of Cambo 5x4. Due week 6-9
5. The correct use, safe handling, transportation of Lighting ratios Due week 11-15
6. The correct use, safe handling, transportation of Light Meters. Due 6-9
Students also complete studio cleaning roster, cyc mopping (1 - 2 students per class per week) over the 16 week semester to learn how to clean and maintain a studio work environment.
Students also present their studio equipment kit prior to shooting to help them learn what is required to be work ready.

Attendance
The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency.
