Course Description

This course illustrates the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a health setting with clients, staff, visitors, suppliers and others to meet established work requirements.

Performance Criteria:

Develop, review and revise personal skills in communication as an ongoing priority to address organisation standards

Exercise caution in communicating personal information by oral and written means to ensure confidentiality of client and staff matters

Routinely apply workplace protocols and procedures in all workplace communication to support accuracy and understanding of information provided and received

Recognise individual and cultural differences and make any adjustments needed to facilitate the achievement of identified outcomes

Conduct interpersonal communication with clients and colleagues in a manner that enhances a client-centred approach to health care consistent with organisation standards

Teaching Schedule

The delivery design of this course allows this module to be delivered as face to face class for two sessions of 3 hours each.The class sessions will be on 19th Feb. and 24th Feb. The rest of the course will be delivered through online resources.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment will be completing case studies and responding to  different activities to  address appropriate application of knowledge for this course.


Assessment Tasks

The assessment will be competency based. You will need to be competent in all assessment tasks to be deemed competent in the course.

The assessment tasks will include class room activities and two assignments that will test the underpinning knowledge required for this competency. The details about the assessments and their submission dates are available to students through blackboard. Please check your Assessment Schedule.
