Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to receive and respond to rehabilitation programs developed by allied health professionals.

Overview of Assessment
The assessment will involve, assignments, written examination and practical assessment in the simulated environment. On gaining competency in these assessments, students will undertake clinical placement for this competency
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Tasks- The following courses will be assessed together as a cluster-
Courses:
- HLTAH407C Assist with the rehabilitation of clients
- HLTAH408C Assist with the development and maintenance of client functional status
- HLTAH414C Support the fitting of assistive devices
The above courses are assessed as a cluster. You must achieve competency in all five (5) assessment tasks in order to pass the related cluster courses in class
Assessment Tasks-
AT1: Activity Analysis
- Analyse an ADL activity of your choose and complete a report based on relevant ‘Activity Analysis’ components.
- Presentation of assignment to the class.
- Details of the assessment will be provided in class.
AT2: Equipment Project
- You will be allocated an equipment topic to research and present to class. Details of the assessment will be provided in class
AT3: Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation Assignment
- Complete an assignment workbook that combines questions across each unit of study covered in the cluster
AT4: Practical exam – Teach an ADL functional skill
- You will be provided with a case scenario identifying a skill that you are required to teach.
- Safely and independently teach the skill to a patient
AT5: Written exam - Involves two components:
1. Short Answer questions
2. Case Study
After successful completion of class room based assessments, you will be eligible for participating in clinical placements. You also need to be deemed competent in clinical placement to pass Occupational Therapy courses.

One unit is assessed on its own:
- HLTAH409C Conduct group sessions for individual client outcomes
