Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare and implement group activities to meet individual client outcomes. Allied Health Assistants will operate within the scope of their defined roles and responsibilities and under supervision of an Allied Health Professional.

Overview of Assessment
The assessment will involve written examination, assignments and practical assessment in the simulated environment. On gaining competency in these assessments, students will undertake clinical placement for this competency
Assessment Tasks
Unit: - HLTAH409C( OHTH 5759C) Conduct group sessions for individual client outcomes
The above unit is assessed on its own. You must achieve competency in the two assessment tasks in order to pass the unit.
Assessment Task Date of Assessment
1. Plan and deliver a group Ice Breaker Activity
- Prepare and conduct an Ice Breaker activity with a group of 4-6 people. Submit a plan of session.
- Details of the assessment will be provided in class session
2. Plan and develop a series of groups
- Plan and develop a series of three consecutive groups based on a case study. Submit above plan using template provided.
- Conduct a shortened version of one of your group sessions with a group of 4-6 people.
- Details of the assessment will be provided in class session
After successful completion of these assessments, you will be allocated clinical placement for one week. You need to be deemed competent in clinical placement to pass this course.
NOTE- The student needs to be deemed competent in all assessments to pass the course. The students will be allocated to attend placements on successful completion of their classroom assessments. The students need to pass both classroom based assessments and clinical assessments to be deemed competent for the course.
