Course Description

This course describes the knowledge and skills required by workers who provide immediate and ongoing support and interventions for consumers with co-existing mental health and alcohol and other drugs issues drawing on a range of models and techniques supported by evidence.

Overview of Assessment

There are a variety of tools used to assess this course including one hundred and sixty hours (160) of placement where competency will be assessed via a third party supervisor report and professional conversation. In addition students will be required to complete an intervention with a case study client - including a mental state exam.
