Course Description

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to identify networking and collaboration needs and develop formal and informal partnerships to enhance service delivery and improve professional practice.

This course applies to work in all industry sectors, and to individuals who take pro-active responsibility for improving collaboration between workers and organisations.

Details of Learning Activities

This course is delivered on campus/ face to face classes. Students will learn through shared talks and discussions, and workshops where exercises are conducted to apply learning. Time is spent during classes for students to work on group and individual assessment tasks. In your own time, you will be expected to keep up-to-date with the readings and videos that will be made available to you on Canvas. The classes, readings and videos will prepare you to be able to complete your course assessments.

Assessment Tasks

Assessment task 1: Develop a network strategy:

Students will deliver a presentation to gain relevant information about a community service. This includes,  evaluating gaps in service and strategies on how the organisation networks and collaborates with other relevant government and non-government organisations.

Assessment task 2: Role Play

In this assessment students are required to work in groups where each student represents a community services organisation. Students will participate in  several role plays to develop, plan and implement a simulated collaborative partnership. Students will also be required to complete written task associated with developing collaborative partnerships.

Assessment task 3: Short Answer Questions 

In this assessment students are required to provide relevant responses to knowledge questions to demonstrate knowledge and learning to maintain and develop networks and collaborative partnerships.
