Provide person centered services to people with disability with complex needs

HLTAAP001

Recognise health body systems

CHCMHS001

Work with people with mental health

[

In this workshop information about the human body is covered including medical terminology how to correctly use that terminology to better understand the inter-relatedness of health conditions.

We will consider how to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body.  A range of conditions will then be examined, including mental health to determine the impact these conditions have.  This then leads to identifying how to provide person-centred services to people with disability to help determine a range of suitable options to support a person's needs, strengths, challenges and solutions.

Workshop flexibility

  • The workshop themes link units and ideas, strategies and current beliefs, values and philosophies about disability and community sector work.
  • The schedule above is planned to address those themes but we will be seeking to include guest presenters and other options to enrich your learning throughout the program.
  • Guest presenters will be scheduled as they are available and this may mean changes to the topics in workshops.  Students will be informed as these opportunities are finalized.
  • We welcome any suggestions or requests from students that would add to the content or experiences.
