Course Description

In the Live Production industry, much of the work is carried out in teams. In this course you will be required to work effectively in production teams, provide leadership and bridge the gap between crew members and managers. It involves working with your team to plan for outcomes, then work cohesively to get the work done and communicate this to management.

  • occasionally lead these teams 
  • work in a small production lighting team along side other specialists in a professional or semi-professional setting


Details of Learning Activities

In class activities will include a range of teacher directed group activities, projects, class exercises, review discussions/lectures and independent project based work.

Out-of-class activities include completion of learning activities and preparing for class projects. Online research and occasional outside of class time group discussions will be required to maintain project work.

Assessment for this course will involve demonstration of practical tasks and testing of your knowledge.


Assessment Tasks

Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace.  

To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task. 
 
You should refer to the assessment brief which is available through Canvas for full assessment criteria and due dates.

Assessment Task 1 - Role play: Lead a team effectiveness meeting demonstrating your ability to apply knowledge of organisational goals, objectives and plans. Due by weeks 7 & 8, Semester 2.

Assessment Task 2 - Team charter and work plan: Develop a team charter for your work team, addressing the current issues in your workplace. Present your team charter. Due by week 16, Semester 2.
