Course Description

Successful live productions depend heavily on effective planning. In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge to assist with planning, organizing and rehearsing the kinds of productions typically associated with the live production and event industry.

On successful completion of this course you will have developed and applied the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate competency in the above elements.

Through the application of these skills and this knowledge, you will be able to: work with others to plan, organize and produce a series of live-switched television productions. the skills which you will obtain from this course can be applied across a range of activities in the live production industry.

Assessment for this course will involve demonstration of practical tasks and testing of your knowledge.


Assessment Tasks

 

ASSESSMENT 1

  • CONTRIBUTE TO EVENT PRODUCTION (BAKEHOUSE / FUSED)

 

You will be involved in an event production at a commercial Melbourne venue for a number of events through semester 2, which involves the lighting and production of a television style music production featuring established Australian artists and hosts..

 

Date Due / Completed: Weeks 7, 8 and / or 9 of semester according to allocation roster

 

ASSESSMENT 2 

  • POST PRODUCTION MEETINGS

  

You will be conducting a post production meeting, presenting reflective production reports on the event production used in Assessment #1. This will be completed in small groups.

ASSESSMENT 3 

  • KNOWLEDGE TEST

 

You will complete a short knowledge test around terminology and industry conventions appropriate to the unit.
