Course Description

In this course you will gain skills and knowledge required to select finished creative work for storage, to assess storage needs, and to protect and maintain work in storage.
People working in all areas of arts practice apply the skills and knowledge described in this unit. They could be responsible for selecting and organising the storage of finished works in their own practice, at an artist-run studio, or in a gallery, exhibition space or educational institution.

Assessment tasks in this course include: an oral test and an essay on an area of archival photographic processes.


Assessment Tasks

Assessment tasks in this unit are UNGRADED and  GRADED. To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard as a minimum. You will receive feedback on all assessment.

Assessment A01: Archiving test (online)

Complete an online test on the principles of archiving work
Due: Week 8 

Assessment A02: Research Assignment – Storing + maintaining work
Graded
In small groups (5 students maximum) research a topic related to an archival process required when processing/storing photographic work. Develop a presentation (PowerPoint + digital handout) to present to the class. Your research topic must be approved BEFORE proceeding.
Due in WK 8
