Overview of Assessment

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment tasks will require you demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills through practical projects and/or exercises.
The assessment tasks are: 3D exercises and project/s
An assessment charter summarises your responsibilities as an RMIT student as well as those of your teachers.

Assessment Tasks

To demonstrate competency in this course you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. The submitted projects will be assessed with written feedback as well as a quality indicator that relates to separate components of the project and the overall outcome. Feedback throughout the course may be written, verbal or a combination of both.

Assessment tasks:

1 x Exercise and 2 x Projects

Ex 1: Paper Craft - Develop and realise creative ideas using 3D skills & techniques. Due Week 3.

Project 1: Pop-up cards/booklet - Research, realise and explore 3D skills and techniques to create a range of design outcomes. Due week 8.

Project 2/2A: Fantastic Beasts/Structures - Explore design processes, research and production methods using appropriate materials skills, techniques and applications and to create multiple 3D design solutions and outcomes. Due week 17.

At the completion of the course, grading will be offered in addition to, and after, competency based assessment.

Grades which apply to courses delivered in accordance with competency-based assessment, but which also use graded assessment are:

CHD Competent with High Distinction
CDI Competent with Distinction

CC Competent with Credit

CAG Competency Achieved Graded
NYC Not Yet Competent

DNS Did Not Submit for Assessment

Assessment Matrix

An assessment matrix demonstrating alignment of assessment tasks with the relevant Unit of Competency is available from the course contact person (stated above).
