Course Description
In this course students originate content, initiate and self-direct the production of a body of work suitable for public exhibition.
Students will become increasingly independent in their studio practice. The student must also confidently initiate and resource work based on developing a personal philosophy, for which they will be required to write a proposal. A group tutorial will take place mid semester.

Learning Outcomes
1. Prepare a proposal for a series of prints which are a vehicle for the expression of a personal philosophy
2. Describe the role of contemporary issues and theory in printmaking as a fine art discipline
3. Plan and execute a series of prints for folio presentation and exhibition
4. Plan and orgainse an exhibition of works outside the studio environment
Details of Learning Activities
Technical assistance will be provided during studio classes, both in traditional and digital printmaking processes. Students will recieve individual, timetabled tutorials during which the conceptual development will be addressed. Students will develop greater independance in their studio practice, and make considered decisions as to which printmaking medium gives best expression to conceptual/aesthetic concerns. They will need to be able to articulate these in the form of a written proposal. The Exchange Printmaking Portfolio wil be finalised, collated and distributed to each of the participating students.
Teaching Schedule
This course is delivered over an 18 week semester.
Weeks 1 - 16 will consist of studio based tutorial.
Weeks 17 - 18 will consist of folio preparation and assessment.
