It includes skills in identifying situations of conflict and incidents of prejudice and discrimination, and identifying ways appropriate to the role of the interpreter to contribute to the resolution of such conflict or incidents.
The course focuses particularly on the oral skills necessary (listening comprehension and speaking in the context of a range of interpreting situations) to achieve effective oral communication, since interpreting is primarily an aural/oral activity.
