Course Description
In this course you will learn about the art and science behind lighting for live events and productions. You will prepare, install, test and monitor basic analogue and digital lighting systems including the use of production lights and production lighting consoles.
Some of the outcomes for the course include;
1. Setting -up and packing down professional grade lighting fixtures like fresnels and profiles
2. Using DMX systems, including control desks, dimmers, cabling and relevant rigging
3. Creating a lighting design
4. Ensuring electrical safety and that power loads are monitored

Learning Outcomes
Overview of Assessment
To demonstrate competency in ‘EEET, 6451C, Prepare, Install and Monitor Lighting Equipment CUFLGT04A’ you must successfully complete all of the following:
1. Participate in simulation exercises during class time.
You must participate in practical tasks at various stages to demonstrate the performance criteria elements
20% During teacher guided hours
2. Practical Test.
In groups you will prepare, install and monitor a small lighting system as specified by your teacher and assessed against a checklist
40% TAFE WEEK 6 (SEM 1)
3. Production of a lighting plan and written report.
40% TAFE WEEK 9 (SEM 1)
