Overview of Assessment
Learners need to demonstrate by means of a range of assessments tasks(such as oral or written tests and practical activities) that they can:
1. Prepare work and set up sewing operations according to safety standards
2. Thread, adjust, test and safely carry out basic sewing operations on a industrial plain machine and an overlock machine
3. Efficiently position and construct simple work pieces according to given samples and quality standards.
4. Complete Short answer tests (oral or written) in relation to sewing machine operations.
5. Describe workplace Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities by the listing the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees.
6. Identify and explain safety signs used in a clothing workplace by describing the meaning of safety symbols, signs and formats
7. Carry out health and safety procedures in operating equipment and in handling materials
8. State emergency procedures by explaining what to do if there is an accident or fire
