Course Description
This unit encompasses the application of skills and knowledge to design and build multi-purpose props and merchandisers suitable for retail windows, in store and exhibition spaces

Details of Learning Activities
On your timetable this competency will be referred to as Studio 2.
This competency is delivered and assessed with OHTH 5087C and OHTH 5088C .
In this unit you will undertake further development, and to expand apon existing skills to enable you to design and manufacture props for the retail,exhibition,event and advertising industries.
These 2D and 3D props will be finished to a professional standard suitable for industry/commercial applications.
Ongoing observation of appropriate occupational and safety procedures, relevant to materials machinery and the working environment ,appropriate clothing and footwear.
Exclusion from production area will apply if appropriate footwear ,and acceptable clothing is not adhered to.
Activities could include.
The manufacture of timber frames and screens.
The use of the vacuum forming process.
Appropriate materials selection in response to a brief.
Produce a range of products which demonstrate the application of design processes to 3 dimensional work.
