Course Description
This unit of competency describes the skills and
knowledge required to construct burn-out patterns for
cast metal framework; and devest, trim, treat, finish and
evaluate alloy structures
All procedures are carried out in accordance with
occupational health and safety policies and procedures,
current infection control guidelines, Australian and New
Zealand Standards, State/Territory legislative
requirements and organisation policy

Overview of Assessment
This unit is to be assessed in a simulated workplace and under the normal range of work conditions.
Practical exercises, presentation of competency assessment exercises & written tests are used.
Assessment Tasks
The assessments in this unit are undertaken in a simulated workplace and under the normal range of work conditions in the form of a practical exercise and a theoretical exam (PASS MARK 50%) both of which are to be
co-assessed with the following units;
