Course Description
The course offers an extensive study on yarn and machine preparation for weaving production, engineering of a woven cloth by utilizing knowledge on woven fabric parameters, including fabric sett, liner density/count, crimp, cover factor, fabric thickness and weight. It covers a study of Scot Weave software, including design of variety of yarns, construction of woven fabric designs, instructions on setting up woven fabrics, creating patterns for sample production.

Learning Outcomes
Overview of Assessment
Students will study CAD /Cam programming methods for engineering woven fabric samples, design a range of woven products, develop computer program for production of a variety of woven cloths through practical experimentation, computer simulations, exercises and assessment work. Students will be guided through the process of Scot Weave CAD/Cam System of weave design.
