Course Description

This course covers the skills and knowledge to weigh and check textile materials and products. It also covers the skills and knowledge associated with planning and organising non-routine testing within the enterprise.

1. Plan or develop tests
1.1. Relevant information is obtained to establish criteria for tests.
1.2. Test is developed of planned to meet criteria, including testing at set stages, if required.
2. Organise non-routine tests
2.1. Requirements are confirmed if necessary.
2.2. Equipment and resources required to perform the tests are obtained and prepared.
2.3. Raw material, yarn, chemical mix or finished fabric is tested against specified quality standards using prescribed testing procedures and in accordance with OHS practices.
3. Analyse results
3.1. Results of the tests are collated and analysed.
4. Interpret and report results
4.1. Analysis is interpreted to determine performance and acceptability for production.
4.2. Reports are prepared.
