Details of Learning Activities
This is a studio based course covering both theory and practical aspects of planning processes.
Individual and group projects will be undertaken and will involve:
Simulated industry practises
Communication
Project Briefs
Occupational Health and Safety and workplace practices
Plan; Hold; Monitor Actions of Meetings
Industry research/interviews
Group discussions and class review
Reflection and Analysis
Technical File involving all details of Production Planning meetings
Teaching Schedule
Sessions are delivered across a 16 week period.

SESSION 1
• Introduction to course requirements and course overview
• OH&S requirements
• Time management strategies
• Introduction to Production Plans
• Develop Production Plan
SESSION 2
Planning meetings are held to review and analyse production plan and requirements
Overview of Production: Prepare, Plan and Produce a Product
• Continue with Project Addressing Product Specifications, Quantities, Equipment Used
• Planning production for Small Production Run
SESSION 3
INDUSTRY REVIEW
Specific requirements for meetings are confirmed
SESSION 4
PRESENTATION OF THE PRODUCTION PLAN
• Reflect and analyse on the Production Schedule and ‘Folio Presentation’

Overview of Assessment
To achieve successful completion of this course students must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of competency.
Assessment tasks have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner.
Students will be awarded a grade only if competency has been demonstrated within the standard enrolment period on the first assessment attempt.
Units assessed as ’not yet competent’ on a first assessment attempt and ’competent’ on a second or subsequent attempt are to have results amended to competent but are not eligible for grading.
Students are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher.
All work must be submitted by the due date. Late submission will not be graded higher
