Course Description

This unit of competency, Create titles for screen productions CUFANM403A is delivered in the class Design Studio 1, together with Collaborate in a Creative Process BSBCRT402A and Make a presentation BSBCMM401A. This unit covers the skills required to create digital visual effects and titles for a screen based production. In addition, particular attention will be paid to motion graphic, broadcast design, and compositing effects.

2. In consultation with relevant personnel , clarify work flow sequences to ensure that production schedule deadlines are met
3. Identify the available budget for the production of titles as required

11. Incorporate and manipulate moving or static graphic items to be included in titles
12. Modify titles and source items to ensure that the required visual effect is achieved
13. Trial various techniques and styles and produce initial compilation of titles ensuring that style, content and creative intentions are met
14. Decide upon the appropriate parameters of display  to meet with creative requirements and technical specifications
15. Review initial titles to ensure that they meet technical and creative requirements
16. Ensure that the movement  of titles and other graphic items maximises the visual impact required for productions
17. Ensure that titles incorporate captions with required images and sound, and are correctly synchronised with sound
18. Ensure that titles are legible and appropriately spaced
19. Record and store titles and other graphic images according to enterprise procedures

20. Present initial title compilations to relevant personnel for feedback
21. Participate in initial and ongoing evaluation of titles
22. Confirm accuracy of text, spelling, punctuation and content
23. Negotiate and agree to additional requirements and modify titles as required
24. Ensure that agreement is reached with, and approval granted by, relevant personnel before proceeding with the final production of titles
25. Review process of creating titles and note areas for future improvement

4. Produce and maintain a schedule of items  to be included in titles
5. Determine if graphic items need to be imported from other sources and source these items as required
6. Obtain copyright clearances to use imported items as required
7. Select appropriate fonts and/or create fonts as required

Attendance
Many of the assessment tasks within Design Studio 1 are undertaken within class time, so it is important to attend all classes.

The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that you attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency
