Course Description

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to collect, analyse and communicate information and to use that information to develop and maintain effective working relationships and networks, with particular regard to communication and representation.

Learning Outcomes


Frontline managers play an important role in developing and maintaining positive relationships in internal and external environments so that customers, suppliers and the organization achieve planned outputs and outcomes. They play a prominent part in motivating, mentoring, coaching and developing team cohesion through providing leadership for the team and forming the bridge between the management of the organisation and team members.

At this level, work will normally be carried out within routine and
non routine methods and procedures, which require planning and
evaluation, and leadership and guidance of others.

Overview of Assessment

You are required to complete a research project and to provide a written report.


Assessment Tasks

Assessment Task/s:

*There are two parts to the assignments: RESEARCH and WORKPLACE RELATIONSHIPS.

You are required to produce the necessary documentation.

Part 1:
After assignment brief you are to research and submit a minimum of 6 images sourced from web, magazine and discussion with your teacher of the photographers whom you admire and express interest in

Part 2:
Formulate email strategy with teacher and forward to respondent.

Consult teacher.
Work collaboratively.

Production Requirements:

Assessment must ensure:
• access to appropriate documentation and resources
normally used in the workplace.

Final Report:

Produce a written report (typed).
Include the following:
*Please refer to the briefing document handout in your first class.
Assessment task  completion and timely return to teacher of all relevant work placement documentation prior to commencement and within one week of completion of each separate placement.

The agreement outline must be returned to your teacher before the commencement of your work placement. an appropriate placement must be negotiated with your teacher, before hand.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their host completes the documentation so the student may return it as required.

NOTE: Pass criteria for each project will be detailed on the individual job brief.
