Course Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to exploit creative and innovative options in the production of photoimages using a variety of imaging technologies and processes.
You resolve complex visual communications problems and interact with a range of imaging technologies (analogue, digital, hybrid, traditional and emerging). The selection, application and adaptation of these imaging technologies support you in the creation of innovative images.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises and discussions and through the application of skills and insights learned from the course content to a series of projects requiring the adaptation of contemporary digital imaging technologies which allow you to develop unique and innovative images.

FOLIO Assessment task Description
Students are required to create a folio comprised of 3 parts:
Folio part 1 - Contrasting Scale
This is to be a composited photorealistic image made up of two or more photographic images in the final file. This is to represent a contrast of scale.
Folio Part 2 - Altered State
This is to be a composited photorealistic image made up of several photographic images in the final file that are not possible. In other words altering the reality of the subject and presenting it in a realistic manner.
Folio Part 3 - Calendar
This is to be a folio collection of the students’ own images laid out in a calendar format as a pdf and printed up using a commercial printer.
For each component of the folio, students are to decide on their subject matter in consultation with their teacher, shoot and process the source files and then develop their folios using skills gained through the tutorial exercises.
