Course Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage a straightforward project or section of a larger project. In this course you will develop skills to manage projects including developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the project to identify lessons learnt for application to future projects.

Overview of Assessment
Critical aspects of assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit are:
Development of a project plan
Details of monitoring arrangement/s and evaluation of the project plan’s efficacy to address time lines and budgets of project
Knowledge of relevant legislation.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered as essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks.
To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessments and a grade for the summative assessment.
Formative Assessment
1. Production work on supervised RMIT University events.
You are expected to participate in the planning, administration and review of at least 3 Agreed Projects at RMIT University under your teacher’s supervision. This work must be completed by TAFE Week 17, Semester 2 and icludes work on Blog and Wiki pages.
2. Production work without direct supervision.
You are expected to participate in the planning, administration and review of at least 2 Agreed Projects without your teacher’s supervision. This work must be completed by TAFE Week 17, Semester 2 and includes work on Blog and Wiki pages.
3. Blog: 1 entry per month (at least 7 in total)
The Blog entries must have quality discussion on decision-making about the productions you are working on. See my example on Blackboard. Your Blog can be found under your name in the appropriate class folder.
You are also expected to make 4 entries in other people’s Blogs (in 4 different Blog’s). I will give you feedback on your first and last Blog entry.
Summative Assessment
3. Project management of a small-scale production and development of a comprehensive Wiki for the project that addresses the planning, administration and review of the production. This work must be completed by TAFE Week 17, Semester 2.

Attendance
The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that you attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency.
