Course Description

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to participate in the provision of information and performance data necessary to inform management and other stakeholders of occupational health and safety (OHS) issues and to measure and evaluate the management of OHS. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

Participants will work individually and in groups. Participants are required to read the course notes and any information provided on the myRMIT Studies . Participants are also required to read the chapter from the recommended text relating to the session topic.

Overview of Assessment

The participant must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over a range of assessment tasks.

Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including technical requirements documentation, workplace activities, in class exercises, quizzes, practical problem solving exercises and presentations. Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher to ensure that the relevant competency standards are being met.


Assessment Tasks

A major case study - 100% of total mark

Using a case study you be required to draw up an action plan for the implementation of a contractor management system and develop a contractor management procedure.

The above assessment task will assess the following unit:
