Course Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage a straightforward project or a section of a larger project.
This unit addresses the management of projects including the development of a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the project to identify lessons learnt for application to future projects.

Details of Learning Activities
You will be involved in learning activities in a day long and evening workshop which will include group discussions and group work activities based on workshop content. You will also be required to undertake independent studies. Reflection on your own work context is a significant aspect of this course and you will be given opportunities to discuss and think about your own practice.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment in this unit will consist of a combination of written responses to underpinning knowledge questions and a 3rd party testimonial demonstrating your skills and knowledge in project development and mangement within a community development context.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment for this course is based on 2 specific tasks:
Task one: You will develop and present a brief 5 minute presentation about your project concept, imagining you are pitching to a group of potential funding
donors.
Task two: You will be required to complete written responses to questions/prompts on a project plan template provided. These questions/prompts will ilicit responses about:
- How you work with your organisation/group and community members to develop, manage and monitor a community development project.
- How you would finalise and evaluate the project in conjunction with your partners and group members.
