In this course you will explore the  knowledge and skills required to implement research relevant to operations of the organisation and/or the community

1.1 Ensure views and interests of stakeholders are reflected in the research methodology and it and is compatible with ethical considerations
1.2 Select research methodology suitable to needs, purposes and resources and to maximise credibility of outcomes
1.3 Select and use research strategies appropriate to client group, subject matter being researched, the outcomes sought and the resources available

Details of Learning Activities

You will be involved in learning activities in a day long workshop which will include group discussions and group work activities based on workshop content. You will also be required to undertake independent studies. Reflection on your own work context is a significant aspect of this course and you will be given opportunities to discuss and think about your own practice.

Overview of Assessment

The assessment activities for this course require you to demonstrate your knowledge and application of skills in relation to the preparation,implementation, analysis and reporting of a research plan relevant to community development project work or activities.


Assessment Tasks

You will be required to complete 2 Assessments for this course :

Task 1: Provide a detailed, written research plan describing strategies and methodologies used to gather and analyse the data and information required for your community development project/activities. Your research plan must also make reference to published information you have sought to provide a comprehensive plan. Your research plan will be embedded in the project portfolio -Part A

Task 2: Written responses to questions represented in the Project portfolio - Part A, describing how you have undertaken consultation and analysis with community members and key stakeholders to  develop and document research activities.

Task 3: A 3rd party testimonial will be required to provide workplace evidence of your community consultation processes and  organisational  & reporting strategies.
