This unit specifies the outcomes required to prepare a materials or sample board for client presentation, for interior decoration and design projects.

Learning Outcomes
This unit supports the attainment of skills and knowledge required for competent workplace performance in interior decoration and design operations of all sizes. The preparation of a materials board includes visual demonstration of colour, materials, samples, finishes and textiles used in the decoration and design project.
Details of Learning Activities
You will participate in a range of learning activities in this unit, including
Demonstrations, including AV presentations.
Supervised Studio activities
Research and sourcing of Materials from direct Industry sources.
Site Visits to Libraries, Showrooms, Trade fairs & Manufactures for relevant information & sampling to apply to finished boards.
Self Directed Learning
Some activities will include a self directed learning approach. Self-directed learning refers to organises activities that students undertake independently, either as individuals or with other students, that are directed by a teacher. This may include workplace research, library assignments, field work and work placements.
