This unit applies in manufacturing, engineering or related environments.
It may include information related to production, maintenance or associated processes. Information may be drawn from a variety of sources.
This unit includes the ability to communicate using common workplace terminology.


Details of Learning Activities

Learning activities will take place in a studio, workshop or classroom using industry standard tools and resources. You will complete exercises and industry style projects. You will also be required to undertake independent study.
The delivery mode for this course is completely ONLINE.

Assessment Tasks

Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks. Summative assessment tasks in this course are graded.
Feedback throughout the course may be written, verbal or a combination of both.
To demonstrate competency in this course you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard.
 

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Task 1 - Design Terminology

Using the Design Terminology glossary provided, source and complete 10 definitions for design terms. Source another 5 design words from industry journals and write a sentence using design terminology to describe a residential space. Due Week 6


Task 2 - Client Profile & Short Report
Working with a partner choose from one of the 10 room images provided and write a client profile of the owners of the space using your powers of deduction. You are then to write a Short Report to your clients recommending a sustainable alternative for their room. Due Week 11
