Course Description

This course is designed to extend and reinforce the relationship between ideas, source information and the manipulation of the materials in the production of sculpture. You will be encouraged to extend their language, terminology and visual elements of sculpture and to understand adaptive properties and characteristics of materials.

Learning Activities
Your learning activities will take place in a studio and lecture theatre. You will complete exercises and industry style projects. You will also be required to undertake independent study.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment will incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of knowledge and skills and will include:

• Practical tasks, a major project which includes a installation and site specific work
• Direct observation including exploration of and experimentation with techniques
• Completion of a portfolio including personal reflection
• Complete practical work based on thematic concepts
• Written journal

Task 4. Assessment title: Casting doll’s head. One and two part molds. Silicone, Latex, two part plaster container mold.

Assessment Matrix

You will receive verbal and written feedback by the teacher on your work.This feedback also includes suggestions on how you can proceed to the next stage of developing your projects.
The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstrations and production.It is strongly advised that you attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum oportunity to gain the competency.
