Course Description
In this course you will gain the skills and knowledge required to refine painting technique and to develop an individual style in a body of creative work. This occurs through a process of research, refinement and evaluation.

Details of Learning Activities
Learning activities will take place in a studio, workshop or classroom using industry standard tools and resources. You will complete exercises and industry style projects. You will also be required to undertake independent study.

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment will incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of knowledge and skills and will include:
You will be encouraged to attend exhibition openings outside of your learning environment. RMIT School of Art has two galleries and an ongoing exhibition program.
Practical tasks, a series of major projects
Direct observation including exploration of and experimentation with techniques
Completion of a visual diary and portfolio including personal reflection and feedback
Direct questioning combined with review of portfolios of evidence.
Assessment is based on your ability to undertake the following:

Produce a coherent body of professional artwork that includes the use of well-developed painting technique
