In this course you will apply photographic styling techniques to visual merchandising arrangements.

Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessments to a satisfactory standard.
Each shoot will be ungraded.
Your final grade will be determined by the folio of 12 images that you will submit on the due dates.
Brief 1 Location Shoot (Fashion) Ungraded Due week 5 commencing 9 March
You will be required to work as a photographer on a location/studio shoot. For this assignment you will be working directly with a fashion stylist on a designated brief. It is expected that you will liaise with the stylist to discuss the details of the brief and jointly plan the location, model selection and timeline for the shoot.
*This is to be treated as a professional assignment where you put into practice the basic requirements of thorough planning and preparation, appropriate props as required, punctuality, attention to detail, professional photo kit and professional attitude.
Deliverables Graded
You are to produce/supply 3 final digital files of the location/studio shoot. You are required to liaise directly with the photographer/stylist (as per class discussion).
Brief 2 Location Shoot (Food) Ungraded Due week 9 commencing 13 April
You will be required to work as a photographer on a location/studio shoot. For this assignment you will be working directly with a food stylist on a designated brief. It is expected that you will liaise with the stylist to discuss the details of the brief and jointly plan the location, food selection and timeline for the shoot.
*This is to be treated as a professional assignment where you put into practice the basic requirements of thorough planning and preparation, appropriate props as required, punctuality, attention to detail, professional photo kit and professional attitude.
Deliverables Graded
You are to produce/supply 3 final digital files of the location/studio shoot. You are required to liaise directly with the photographer/stylist (as per class discussion).
Brief 3 Location Shoot (Food/Fashion/other) Ungraded Due week 13 commencing 10 May & week 15 commencing 25 May.
You will be required to work as a photographer on 2 shoots (Part 1 & Part 2) on location/studio. For these assignments you will be working directly with stylists on designated briefs of your choice. It is expected that you will liaise with the stylists to discuss the details of the brief and jointly plan the location, selection of subject and timeline for the 2 shoots.
*This is to be treated as a professional assignment where you put into practice the basic requirements of thorough planning and preparation, appropriate props as required, punctuality, attention to detail, professional photo kit and professional attitude.
Deliverables Graded
You are to produce/supply 3 final digitalfiles of each shoot location/studio – 3 images for Part 1 & 3 images for Part 2 - 6 images in total. You are required to liaise directly with the photographer/stylist (as per class discussion).

Assessment Matrix

The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency. Non-attendance may seriously jeopardise the chances of success in a course.

All assessment tasks are required to be completed to a satisfactory level. If you are unable to complete any piece of assessment by the due date, you will need to apply for an extension.
